Our Story

Garlic grown on fertile land

Gutsy Garlic is produced on fertile prairie soil built up by years of regular composting and long crop rotations to minimise disease pressure. We use high quality, hand-selected seed and irrigates the garlic with fresh water from the nearby Rocky Mountains.

Michael and Alison grew up oceans apart; Michael was from New Zealand and Alison is from Canada and yet from a young age, they both wanted to farm. Being outside, working as a team and watching their hard work grow into food is just some of what drew them into farming.

Michael and Alison want to produce safe, healthy food the whole family can enjoy, while educating people on farm life and the benefits of locally grown garlic.

Along with their love of agriculture, they value transparency and education in everything they do.

Our Seed Garlic has been tested at the University of Guelph for the absence bulb stem nematodes to ensure the quality of our seed.
